Frequently Asked Questions
-
This can be a difficult question to answer, and it’s something many families find challenging. We recommend starting with a list of immediate family and close friends of both your family and your loved one who you know will be attending. From there, we suggest allowing an additional 20% to account for guests who may attend on the day. In these circumstances, it’s often better to slightly overestimate, so everyone who comes can be comfortably catered for.
-
Guests may arrive straight away. If some friends or family are not attending the service, we can welcome them in and ensure they’re comfortable with tea or coffee until you arrive.
-
There’s no strict time limit. We usually allow around 1–2 hours, but we understand this is an important time for family and friends to be together, so we won’t rush you out.
-
This happens more often than people expect, so please don’t worry. Our staff are experienced in managing this sensitively. We’ll first ensure all tables are fully occupied, and if additional guests are still arriving, a member of our team will discreetly speak with you to confirm catering for the extra numbers. For every funeral tea, we hold two overflow tables (up to 20 guests), which can be set up and catered for within 10–15 minutes.
-
No, we do not require a deposit. The bill can be settled on the day of the service, or in advance if you prefer. If payment is made in advance and additional guests attend on the day, a small additional charge may apply. We’re also happy to provide an invoice if required for legal or administrative purposes.

Yes. We are proud to be one of the most accessible venues in Greenock and the wider Inverclyde area. There are no steps or lifts required to enter either our restaurant or function room. Access to the function room is via a gently sloped path at the side of the building, which most guests find easy to manage. We also have accessible toilet facilities on the function room floor, including baby changing facilities.
